My predominant memories of this show were:
The 'night off' after 4 straight killers from Philly to Rochester. Man, that was like gradually climbing Mount Everest.
Then, it was right back up the mountain in Providence to Lewiston lol.
This show has it's moments: Halfstep > Franklin's & Let It Grow in the first set. Stranger & High Time in the second..
The thing that stands out the most however from this show?
I was a dancer back then, out in the aisles around the arena.
This night, some kid obviously had taken a bit too much acid. He spent the entire second set 'dancing' (walking) in a circle about 2-3 feet in circumference....
This cop working security thought this was hilarious and kept getting his buddies to "check this out."
Good thing the kid didn't flip out or nobody needed the cops' assistance while they yucked it up at the poor kid.

On cloud 9 out of Rochester and an overnight limo ride with some stylin' Californians I was pumped for more Dead. This show was a lot of fun although some people were sore about missing the Dew.
Half Step, Franklin's, High Time and Black Peter are excellent.

Another barn burner from Summer Tour '80! It seems like that they were able to deliver the goods after an insane night in Rochester...What a week of shows!
Kudos to Jim for making a great sounding audience tape. Love the audience tapes!

when I see "Jim Wise" I know it's worth a listen. Sound quality improves greatly halfway thru the Halfstep.

I gotta' concur w/ Utopian. Hot show, stoked audience and an immaculate Wise aud. to catch the moment.... Stranger, High Time, Sailor>Saint is a fine lil' nugget of gold before drums.

I couldn't make it through more than 1/2 of Franklins due to the continual fading in and out of the left channel. Tried the other version of this show and it has the same problem. Too bad there's not a better recording of this show, the boys seemed to be right on it. Too bad about the recording
